VISIT INVERNESS - HOW TO GET HERE

By Car: The A9 links Perth, Edinburgh and Glasgow to Inverness.

By Bus/Coach: Use National Express, Citylink or even Megabus.

By Train: For Inverness train tickets, use The Trainline website. London to Inverness by train takes about 8 hours (and a sleeper service is available if you’d rather travel overnight).

By Plane: Inverness Airport is situated 7 miles east of the city centre. For flight deals to and from Inverness airport, try the Skyscanner.net website.

INVERNESS ATTRACTIONS - WHAT TO SEE & DO

Along with decent shopping, restaurants and pubs, Inverness city centre visitor attractions include the Inverness Museum & Art Gallery and Inverness Castle.

More importantly perhaps, plenty of amazing countryside, scenery and nature can be enjoyed using Inverness as a base. You are in the Highlands after all.

Following the Caledonian Canal will lead you to the picturesque Urquhart Castle which overlooks Loch Ness. While you’re there, have a lookout for Nessie! If you’re not successful, head to the Loch Ness Visitor Centre.

Other nearby day-trip attractions from Inverness include Culloden Battlefield and the Clava Cairns archaeological site.

Summertime events to watch out for include the Inverness Highland Games (July) and music festivals Rockness (June) and Belladrum Tartan Heart (August).
